Critical Role Campaign 4 Introduces the Warriors Group

Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, demons, and dark forces expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Introduced

Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of characters who will separate from the main group to embark on their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.

This warrior group features Teor (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.

Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the events of the latest installment show why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.

An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the secret base, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.

The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
  • Kattigan has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a hostile environment.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the team access places they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The target is marked for death by House Halovar.

This means them no alternative but to head to the northern region in search of Casimir.

Future Episodes

According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to assemble the Questers and Strategists tables.

Audiences can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on next week.
